Today, human urine is treated in an expensive (flushing) and energy-consuming (treatment plants) manner and contaminates 6,000 billion liters of drinking water per year in Europe.
Toopi Organics has gained expertise in all aspects of this sector by setting up its first semi-industrial biostimulant production unit in Loupiac de la Réole (France) and by developing a complete urine recovery process.
Today, the Toopi Organics process has been tested and patented and is an ecological solution that is less expensive than the chemical inputs currently used in agriculture. This innovation is part of a circular, local and reproducible model. Our innovation is part of a circular, local and replicable model; our urine recycling process is energy and resource efficient and produces NO waste. All activities (collection, processing, use) are located within a 150 km radius. Urine is collected in urban areas and bioproducts are distributed in rural areas. Thanks to the proximity and short circuits, the ecological footprint of our model - which is easily replicable - is limited. Urine collection requires low-cost and easy-to-implement infrastructure adjustments. The industrial tool has a low CAPEX and the marketing is based on existing distribution systems (B2B) and on the participation of customers in their own production.
